WWE is going forward with the “wild card” concept again, but this time it’s supposed to be on an invitation basis.
WWE Champion Drew McIntyre announced on Raw that he’s inviting SmackDown’s King Corbin to face him in a singles match on next week’s show.
Additionally, WWE has announced NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair will appear on this week’s SmackDown. Otis will also appear on MizTV, though that will be business as usual.
As noted earlier, WWE is reportedly bringing back the cross-brand appearances due to recent decline in ratings.
