Roman Reigns vs. Daniel Bryan Not Expected At WWE SummerSlam

A singles match between Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan is currently not in the plans for Sunday’s WWE Summerslam pay-per-view.

As for what capacity Reigns and Bryan will be used on the show, it is still being determined. WrestleVotes tweeted there were discussions at Smackdown about adding Reigns vs. Buddy Murphy to the card following up on the angle that happened on Smackdown.

The talk within WWE is that Reigns vs. Bryan will be stretched out past Summerslam as part of a program leading into the important fall months. There has been speculation about doing Reigns and Samoa Joe vs. Bryan and Rowan at Summerslam but there may not be a match at all, with Vince opting to utilize the biggest show of the summer to continue the program.

Several ideas have been pitched as for who is behind the attack on Reigns, with Rowan not being it. The card for Sunday’s pay-per-view currently is as follows:

  • Brock Lesnar vs. Seth Rollins for the WWE Universal Championship
  • Becky Lynch vs. Natalya in a Submission Match for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship
  • Bayley vs. Ember Moon for the WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship
  • Kofi Kingston vs. Randy Orton for the WWE Championship
  • Shane McMahon vs. Kevin Owens if Owens loses, he will be forced to quit
  • Bray Wyatt vs. Finn Balor
  • AJ Styles vs. Ricochet
  • Dolph Ziggler vs. Goldberg
  • Trish Stratus vs. Charlotte Flair
  • Drew Gulak vs. Oney Lorcan for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship
  • Summerslam 2019 will take place Sunday from the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
