The Horror Show At WWE Extreme Rules Results (7/19/20) – New Tag Champs

Kevin Owens beat Murphy in a Kickoff match. There was some good back and forth suplex spots and near falls. Owens ultimately went over via pinfall after hitting the Stunner.

Tables Match for the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship
– The New Day (c) vs. Cesaro & Shinsuke Nakamura

Due to the fact this is a tables match, there are no tags. The only way to win is to put your opponent through a table. The match started quick with all four men doing battle into the ring. The New Day then took Nakamura out on the outside and then a dropkick from Kofi Kingston onto Cesaro on the ring steps. The challengers mounted a comeback by isolating Big E on the outside. Cesaro and Nakamura tried to put Kofi through table in the ring but Big E made the save. He nearly powerbombed Shinsuke through a table but Cesaro with the save. Big spot from Big E as he speared Cesaro off the ring apron, nearing onto a table.

Kofi launched over Big E out of the ring but Cesaro and Nakamura were there waiting to attack with a table. Big E stops the challengers from suplexing Kofi through a table on the outside. Cesaro and Nakamura get on the ring apron and kick Big E’s head through the ring ropes.

Kofi came back with a high spot on Nakamura, while Big E did the same on Cesaro inside the ring. A replay is shown of Kofi diving off the top rope onto Nakamura. The New Day setup another table on the outside of the ring. They stack one on top of the other.

The action settles with Big in the ring with the challengers. He went for his finisher but Cesaro put him in the swing. Kofi back in and mounts a comeback on the champions.

Nakamura is able to help Cesaro stabilize Kofi Kingston, allowing for Cesaro to go off the ropes and powerbomb him through two tables.

Singles Match for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship
– Nikki Cross w/Alexa Bliss vs. Bayley w/Sasha Banks

Nikki Cross started in control, getting a quick near fall. She then hit a cross body block from the top rope. Bayley was able to recover and ran Cross into the plexiglass barricade.

Nikki Cross hit a nice swinging neckbreaker on the champion, sending her to the outside. Cross brought Bayley back in and got the two count.

They played up Nikki Cross being frustrated over not being able to put Bayley away. Sasha Banks gave Bayley her “Boss” ring and she used it to hit Cross in the ribs while Banks distracted the referee.

Winner and still WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion, Bayley

MVP comes out with Bobby Lashley. It’s said Apollo Crews cannot compete tonight due to a bulging disc suffered from the full nelson Lashley put him in. Lashley put a United States Championship belt around MVP’s waist, declaring him the champion.

Eye for an Eye Match
The match can only be won when one competitor extracts an eye of their opponent
– Seth Rollins vs. Rey Mysterio

Yes, if you see the replay, Seth Rollins brought a pair of pliers to the ring for this one.

Rey Mysterio went for a 619 early but Rollins regrouped and fought back. Mysterio went for a hurricanrana but Rollins countered and hit a falcon arrow on the apron.

Rollins brought a kendo stick in the ring and tried to jam in it into Mysterio eye. Rey fought back and was tossed to the outside onto a table. Mysterio called him a “son of a bitch,” with Rollins following for an attack on the outside.

Mysterio threw Rollins into the announce table where he caught his right eye on the corner. Rollins countered with a steel chair to Rey’s back. The match eventually went back into the ring where Mysterio went vintage with his high-flying offense, culminating with a frog splash.

Rollins countered with each going back and forth at the other’s eyes. Mysterio finally hit 619. Rollins sold damage to his eye and Rey capitalized by stomping Rollins’ face on the outside. Rey picks up Rollins and takes his face to the corner of the ring steps, pressing his eye into them. Rollins hits a low blow and ends up kicking him in the face right into the barricade. Rollins still heavily selling damage to his right eye.

Rollins hit a curb stomp on Mysterio on the outside, they wondered on announce if he was unconscious.

The finish saw Rollins force Mysterio’s eye into the corner of the ring steps. He backed off like he was going to kick him and it was discovered that Rey’s eye was “out.” In fact, Samoa Joe stated calmly on commentary, “It’s out.” The referee called for the bell while Dominick and help came from the back. Meanwhile, Rollins vomited at ringside.

Winner, Seth Rollins

Singles Match for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship
– Asuka (c) w/Kairi Sane vs. Sasha Banks w/Bayley

Sasha Banks countered a kick from Asuka to put her in a rear chinlock on the mat. They played up Sasha being a veteran as Asuka built a comeback. Asuka had a nice sliding knee spot on the apron that allowed her to bring the challenger back into the ring.

A lot of even-steven booking with neither talent made to look better than the other. Banks spiked Asuka off the plexiglass and hit a frog splash for a near fall. Sasha locked in the Bank Statement but Asuka made it to the ropes.

Asuka made a comeback and got a near fall off a bridge. She hit a German suplex and unloaded kicks, followed by a baseball slide. Another near fall.

Sasha worked Asuka off from the top rope as the latter was going to attempt a superplex. Banks took too long, allowing Asuka to get back on the ropes.

Banks had a spot where her knee gave out on her. They rolled a replay of her smacking her knee on the mat after a suplex from Asuka. Banks screamed at the referee and traded blows with the champion. Bayley interfered but Asuka ended up taking her out. Kairi Sane got into with it first.

Inadvertently, Asuka spit the green mist in the referee’s face. This allowed for Bayley to get in and distract the referee. Bayley ended up taking the referee’s shirt off him and counted the three count for Banks over Asuka. She called for the timekeeper to ring the bell.

Winner? and new WWE Raw Women’s Champion, Sasha Banks

Backstage, Charly Caruso gave an update on the horrible Rey Mysterio angle. Doctor’s say if the optic nerve is not severed, he may not lose his sight. Go to dot com for the latest.

Extreme Rules Match for Dolph Ziggler for the WWE Championship
Per the stipulation set by Dolph Ziggler, he can use “extreme rules.” McIntyre cannot and if he does, he loses the WWE Championship
– Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler

Dolph Ziggler announces he wants an “extreme rules” match but for him. If Drew McIntyre does anything outside of a normal sanctioned wrestling match, he will drop the WWE Championship.

McIntyre was able to get a near fall, gaining control on the outside but rolling the challenger back in. McIntyre wanted to use a table on a suplex spot but got creative after thinking twice. After the near fall, Ziggler hit a heavy low blow on McIntyre right in the middle of the ring. Ziggler put steel chairs in the ring. Ziggler hit a couple big chair shots and got a cover.

Ziggler continued to use the stipulation to his advantage, going post-to-post on the champion. Out of nowhere, McIntyre landed a massive clothesline. He also landed a nice sit-down powerbomb.

Ziggler had a massive spot with a flying elbow out of the ring onto McIntyre, who was laid out on a table.

McIntyre was able to get back in the ring but only to take the Zig Zag again. Dolph yelled, “Why won’t you die?” in frustration. While Ziggler unraveled, throwing chairs out the ring, it gave McIntyre time to recover. Ziggler sized him up but McIntyre responded with a Claymore kick.

Winner and STILL WWE Champion, Drew McIntyre

Wyatt Swamp Fight
– WWE Universal Champion Bray Wyatt vs. Braun Strowman

This started with Bray Wyatt in a rocking chair, while Braun Strowman drove up in his truck. Strowman told Wyatt he was home and then Strowman went searching for Bray. Flashes of animals were shown on the screen. Strowman was attacked by two henchmen, as they cut toe a Firefly Funhouse segment featuring a cheerleader bit.

The next thing we see, Strowman is chained up and Wyatt’s old entrance theme is shown and he’s holding a lantern. Wyatt tells Strowman he is like him, Strowman said he is not.

A woman in a veil stood on a dock and called to Strowman, saying he had to do this. It was Alexa Bliss. Images showed them together from past shows. Wyatt hit Strowman with an oar. Strowman came out of the water only to get beat up more by Wyatt who said, “Look what you made me do” and “I didn’t want this.”

Strowman kicked Wyatt, who tried attacking him with a weapon. Wyatt used the Mandible Claw to pull Strowman into the water. Wyatt appears to come back up but is pulled back under and the water goes calm. The water then turns red and starts bubbling. Wyatt’s “The Fiend” character returns, staring straight at the camera. The show goes off the air with The Fiend saying, “Let me in!”
