Raw is in memory of “Bullet” Bob Armstrong.

Randy Orton came out to open the show. On announce, the confirmed the kayfabe injury to Drew McIntyre is a hairline jaw fracture and he’ll be ready to defend the title at Clash of Champions next month. They went down the qualifying matches, which will lead to a triple threat later tonight.

Orton said McIntyre thought he deserved to be champion but all he deserves is to live in pain and eat through a straw. Orton doesn’t think he should have to qualify in a match against Kevin Owens because he was entitled to a rematch. Orton said McIntyre wasn’t there tonight and showed a Photoshopped image of him with Edge, Christian, Big Show, Ric Flair and Shawn Michaels in a lineup of hospital beds.

Keith Lee came out and said Orton was doing everything he could to prevent from thinking about losing to him last night at Payback. Since he beat Orton, he should be next in line for a shot at the WWE Championship. Lee started talking about his “good friend” McIntyre when he was attacked from behind by Dolph Ziggler. Orton slowly backed out of the ring as the show went to break.

Keith Lee beat Dolph Ziggler. The finish saw Lee block a superkick and hit the Spiring Bomb to pin Ziggler and advance to the triple threat No. 1 contender’s match later in the evening.

Sarah Schreiber interviewed WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler. Asuka came into the picture and was asked if she has found her next opponent. Asuka said no and ended up shoving Baszler and yelling at Jax.

WWE producer Adam Pearce demanded security do their jobs and keep Retribution out of the building.

Charly Caruso interviewed WWE Raw Women’s Champion Asuka in the ring. Mickie James interrupted as did Natalya and Lana. Mickie and Asuka were attacked by Natalya and Lana. The babyfaces fought back to send them retreating.

Backstage, Cedric Alexander was with the Viking Raiders. Demi Burnett entered and wished them luck tonight. She was impressed with Alexander for turning down The Hurt Business. After everyone left, Angel Garza showed up with a rose.

Mickie James beat Lana w/Natalya. Mickie won after hitting a Mick Kick with Asuka on commentary. She pointed to Asuka afterwards.

Charly attempted to get a comment from Aleister Black about his attack on Kevin Owens from last week. He did not speak.

The Riott Squad will face the IIconics tonight with the winner earning a shot at the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. The losing team has to disband.

Sarah Schreiber interviewed the IIconics. The Riott Squad can’t beat them and are destined to breakup.

Randy Orton beat Kevin Owens. Aleister Black attacked Owens during his entrance. He hit a Black Mass and pushed him into the ring. Owens told the referee to start the match, even though he didn’t want to. KO landed a few blows but Orton delivered an RKO and pinned him for the win. Orton advances to the triple-threat No. 1 contender’s match for later in the evening.

Charly Caruso interviewed the Mysterio family backstage. Angie and Rey’s daughter Aalyah was there. Rey said it would mean the world to him if Dominik could earn a title shot tonight. He promises he has a 619 with the name Monday Night Messiah on it.

MVP and Shelton Benjamin in the ring for MVP’s VIP Lounge. MVP introduces the new WWE United States Champion, Bobby Lashley. Lashley promises to get Apollo Crews back after he tried to get some payback after their match. Cedric Alexander interrupted MVP. Lashley and Shelton were going to go after him but MVP stopped them. MVP asked him if he was having a change of heart. Alexander said “hell no” and he didn’t come alone. The Viking Raiders attacked the Hurt Business from behind.

After the break, The Hurt Business beat up Alexander in the back. Apollo Crews and Ricochet ran them off.

Liv Morgan & Ruby Riott beat The IIconics. As the stipulation goes, the IIconics must break up and Morgan and Riott get a shot at the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. The finish saw Ruby get the cradle on Billie Kay to win via pinfall.

Seth Rollins in the ring for a promo. He is upset at Murphy for kicking him in the head at Payback. He orders him to the back until he can figure out which side of history he wants to be on. Murphy attempted to defend himself but Rollins smacked him in the back of the head.

Seth Rollins beat Dominik Mysterio. Dominik hit the 619 but missed on a frog splash. Rollins countered with a curb stomp and pinned him for the win. Rollins advances to the No. 1 contender’s triple threat match. Rollins delivered a second stomp to Dominik as the Mysterio watched on.

Raw Underground. Titus O’Neil beat up two talents and Riddick Moss challenged him. Moss landed a low blow and delivered a KO punch to win.

The Street Profits cut a promo on Andrade, Garza and Zelina Vega. Dawkins had a scouting report on each of them written on a whiteboard.

Akira Tozawa attempted to drive into the arena but was stopped because he wasn’t on the list. He confronted the guy who wasn’t allowing him in after discovering the list was blank. It was actually a referee! R-Truth rolled him up to win the WWE 24/7 title.

WWE Raw Tag Team Champions The Street Profits vs. Andrade & Angel Garza w/Zelina Vega & Demi Burnett ended in no-contest. Ford hit Andrade with an enziguri and shook the ropes until the lights flickered. Garza and Burnett left as Ford went for the cover but there was no referee.

Retribution came out and the announcers ran off. The faction attacked The Street Profits and Andrade. The other members handled Vega as the show went to break.

Adam Pearce is shown yelling at security.

Raw Underground. Bille Kay and Peyton Royce were there and Shane McMahon told them to have a good time. Jessamyn Duke beat Avery Taylor. Marina Shafir beat an unknown talent by submission. Duke and Shafir looked at the IIconics. Royce pushed Kay in and Duke knocked her out.

Apollo Crews, Ricochet and Cedric Alexander were backstage. Charly Caruso interviewed them. Ricochet explained they have Alexander’s back.

Raw Underground. Shelton Benjamin vs. Apollo Crews did not have a finish. They fought into the crowd, which resulted in The Hurt Business taking on the babyfaces.

Demi Burnett was upset Garza abandoned his friends. They were about to leave but Retribution came in. Garza ran away, leaving Burnett on her own. She got out of the way before anything could happen.

Randy Orton beat Keith Lee and Seth Rollins in a Triple Threat Match. Orton is the new No. 1 contender for the WWE Championship and will face Drew McIntyre for the title at Clash of Champions. The finish saw Lee hit Rollins with a Spirit Bomb. Orton gave Lee an RKO and crawled over him to pin Rollins for the win.
