WWE Negotiating With ESPN+ About Carrying Pay-Per-Views

Talks continue between WWE and ESPN+ about carrying the company’s pay-per-views, reports Dave Meltzer.

As we’ve noted, WWE is negotiating with streaming platforms about carrying their pay-per-views. The deal WWE is looking for is similar to what UFC has with ESPN+ where their pay-per-views can be purchased on the platform but you have to have an active subscription.

The problem with WWE going this route is fans have been getting all of the pay-per-views for just $9.99/month, as part of their WWE Network subscription. WWE forfeited their pay-per-view revenue when the WWE Network launched in attempt to boost the upstart project and give incentive for those that signed up.

With WWE Network subscriptions disappointing, the company is considering ways to evolve to maximize revenue for their content.
