New Japan Pro Wrestling continues to search for a television home in the United States, but recent talks with a major broadcaster failed to yield a deal.
NJPW has had discussions with Sinclair Broadcasting about a few different scenarios. NJPW expressed interest in buying ROH, but Sinclair’s asking price was too high. NJPW then pitched Sinclair on adding a one hour NJPW program to Sinclair stations, in a two-hour block paired with ROH’s TV show.
NJPW’s asking price was said to be very high and Sinclair wasn’t interested in paying a license fee for the show, let alone NJPW’s asking price. Sinclair was only interested in a barter arrangement where NJPW would be given a few minutes of commercial time to sell.
