With Xavier Woods out with an Achilles injury and still working his way back, WWE plans to give Big E a run in singles competition.
This was confirmed on-air during last week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, when Kofi Kingston announced he would be out for six weeks with an “injury.”
The reason for Kofi being out remains unknown at press time.
Big E has not had a singles run for more than half a decade as WWE has enjoyed immense success from The New Day trio.
Vince McMahon has always been high up on E’s charisma, in-ring work and size, so this will definitely be his chance to see how he can get over following one of the most successful factions in recent WWE history.
There are no plans to disband New Day at this time, as the plan is to resume the group when Woods is healthy.
