– WWE Champion Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman opened this week’s SmackDown in Buffalo to announce that Lesnar has quit SmackDown. Lesnar is planning on appearing on Raw to confront Rey Mysterio.
– Due to the Saudi Arabia travel debacle, several NXT stars were brought in to SmackDown for an invasion angle ahead of Survivor Series.
NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler, Matt Riddle, Keith Lee, Tommaso Ciampa, Bianca Belair, Rhea Ripley, Tegan Nox, NXT North American Champion Roderick Strong, among others, made appearances and competed in matches.
NXT Champion Adam Cole successfully defended against Daniel Bryan in the main event.
The show ended with Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and members of the NXT roster making a statement, as seen below.

Other changes made to the show included Tom Phillips, Renee Young, Aiden English and Pat McAfee on commentary, while Kayla Braxton handled ring announcing duties.
