Chris Jericho On Why He Won’t Be Returning To WWE

Chris Jericho did another Saturday Night Special last night on YouTube. One of his fans watching commented for him to please come back to WWE.

“It’s not going to happen,” Jericho explained. “I’m really enjoying being in AEW and I loved my time with WWE. I love Vince McMahon. I learned a lot, had a lot of fun but listen, you can’t stay in the same place forever. You become stagnant. If you do and I think you need to push yourself to do something new and the fact that AEW was live without a net when I first showed up and all of us have done such a great job of promoting this brand and promoting this company. Like I said, the demigod thing is real. Of course it’s not me, even though I’ve never been beaten in the demo for my segment this week. The friggin Young Bucks did over a million viewers. And not only that, The Butcher and The Blade, how about that?”

Jericho, whose WWE career spanned 15 years, departed the company for good in 2018. The following year, he made a surprise appearance at a media event organized by All Elite Wrestling and signed a three-year performer’s contract with the promotion. Of course he went on to become the inaugural AEW World Champion after beating Adam Page.
