As previously reported here, AJ Styles suffered some sort of shoulder injury during the Royal Rumble. This happened following a spear by a returning Edge where he landed wrong.
While we don’t know the full extent of the damage, it appears to be somewhere in the minor to moderate range. According to Dave Meltzer, WWE is reporting that Styles will be returning by Wrestlemania, but the injury will cause him to miss a couple months.
Styles is scheduled to undergo further evaluations later this week. WWE is still trying to sell this injury as a “simple dislocated shoulder”. In the traditional sense of a dislocated shoulder, it doesn’t usually take a couple months to recover from and return. We’ll keep following and updating as information becomes available.
