Impact Wrestling Emergence Night 2 Results & Reactions – (8/25/2020)
The show opens with a video package highlighting the matches on tap for Emergence Night 2, which includes the first-ever Knockouts Championship Iron Man match.
Eddie Edwards out first to put his World Title on the line. Rob Van Dam is out to answer the open challenge.
Impact World Championship Match: Eddie Edwards (c) def. Rob Van Dam via pinfall to retain in a ten-minute bout that saw occasional interference from Katie Forbes. Post-match, Eric Young attacked and said he’ll see Eddie next week for a title match.
At Wrestle House, Johnny Swinger is having too much fun with a toga party. Others are drinking, socializing, and dancing. Taya drinks too much and gets sick on Crazzy Steve. Swinger accidentally throws powder in Steve’s eyes… blindfold match time!
Wrestle House Blindfold Match: Crazzy Steve def. Johnny Swinger with Cousin Jake as the ref.
Backstage, Eddie looks for EY. Elsewhere, Rhino challenges Reno Scum for a tag match next week. #Heath4Impact.
Eddie Edwards comes back out to the ring and grabs a mic. He’s granting EY a title match, but wants to fight right here, right now. EY responds calmly and says he’s five steps ahead, but still wants the match next week. A pull-apart brawl breaks out with Scott D’Amore getting shoved down by Eddie in the process.
Backstage, Rohit Raju cuts a promo on being the new X-Division Champion. He questions who will be able to beat him.
The Rascalz join Madison Rayne for Locker Room Talk. Ace Austin and Madman Fulton are welcomed as their guests, which doesn’t go over well. Tensions rise, resulting in Fulton getting physical with Dez. The segment ends with Rayne declining an invitation to the Treehouse.
Sami Callihan cuts a cryptic promo. Elsewhere, EC3 discusses winning his first TNA World Title in 2015. He says the only way he’ll be free is to destroy the title that he stole from Moose.
Brian Myers def. Willie Mack via pinfall following a competitive match.
Heath cuts a promo on wanting to be Rhino’s tag partner next week against Reno Scum.
Back at Wrestle House, Rosemary and Larry D attempt to go on a date. Before the date starts, Bravo slaps Larry. Dreamer calls for a match.
Wrestle House Match: Larry D def. John E Bravo with Acey Romero as the ref. After, Bravo admits to Taya that he has feelings for Rosemary. Taya vs. Rosemary is set for next week.
30-Minute Iron Man Knockouts Championship Match: Deonna Purrazzo (c) def. Jordynne Grace (2-1) to retain. Jordynne scored the first fall via submission with four minutes remaining. Deonna scored her first fall with a minute remaining after using the title belt against Jordynne’s head while the ref was knocked out. Deonna caught Jordynne in the arm bar for her second fall with just a few seconds on the clock. Deonna’s reign lives to see another day.
