New NXT TakeOver: Portland Match Set, DIY Reuniting At Worlds Collide & More

Below are news & notes coming out of this week’s WWE NXT:

– Bianca Belair won the women’s battle royal for the right to challenge the NXT Women’s Champion at NXT TakeOver: Portland. Belair will challenge either Rhea Ripley or Toni Storm.

As previously noted, Kacy Catanzaro returned to WWE in the battle royal after a six-month hiatus.

– This week’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic matches saw Matt Riddle & Pete Dunne defeat Mark Andrews & Flash Morgan Webster, while Grizzled Young Veterans defeated Alex Shelley & Kushida.

Next week’s NXT will now feature the following:

  • Keith Lee vs. Roderick Strong (c) – NXT North American Championship
  • Imperium vs. Matt Riddle & Pete Dunne – Dusty Classic
  • Grizzled Young Veterans vs. Undisputed Era – Dusty Classic

– Isaiah “Swerve” Scott beat Lio Rush and Tyler Breeze to qualify for the four-way Cruiserweight Championship match at Worlds Collide.

– Jordan Devlin vs. Ligero and Travis Banks vs. Brian Kendrick will take place on next week’s NXT UK to determine who else qualifies for the Cruiserweight Title match.

– Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa are reuniting as #DIY to face Mustache Mountain at Worlds Collide.

Worlds Collide will emanate from Houston, TX and will air live on the WWE Network on Saturday, Jan. 25th at 7pm ET.
