Rey Fenix faced off against his brother Pentagon during the #1 Contender tournament on this week’s AEW Dynamite. He managed to win the match, but it seems he might have suffered an injury in the process.
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer mentioned that Fenix appeared to be hurt, but he said he is just “sore” following the match. There was fear backstage that he suffered a concussion, but there was no confirmation regarding the matter.
Meltzer noted that he heard that Fenix might have suffered a neck injury during the match. While there is no word on his injury, Fenix is known for wrestling through pain.
He is scheduled to face off against Kenny Omega next week in the semi-finals for the tournament.
