On this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, Drew McIntyre had a new theme and a very special Scottish-themed entrance. He was seen wearing a blue kilt and had a big sword that promptly stabbed into the ground, which resulted in a big display of pyro. It seems he borrowed the sword from the Chairman of WWE, Vince McMahon.
Drew McIntyre spoke to Fox Sports, where he revealed that Vince McMahon lent him the sword to use on RAW.
“Recently, we [Vince McMahon and I] had a conversation about it. I was just thinking about walking out with a kilt. But, obviously, he likes to take it a little bit further. Suddenly, we had the sword and the pyro, and he was very hands on with this.”
“I guess I’ll just let the cat out of the bag. The sword I had is actually Vince’s sword. It was gifted to him by Stephanie [McMahon] and Hunter [Triple H]. I did not know how it started but I believe the conversation went, ‘we need a sword and we don’t have one.’”
“And Vince goes, ‘I have a sword.’ I heard that story and told him, ‘of course, you have a sword.’”
Vince McMahon has a whole collection of unique items which also include a T-Rex skull in his office. It seems his collection helped make McIntyre’s entrance more memorable, as he went on to win become the WWE Champion by defeating Randy Orton.
