WWE To Address Intercontinental Championship Status, Wild Card Rule Returning?

WWE has a busy night on their hands with this week’s Monday Night Raw.

POST Wrestling is reporting that WWE will make an announcement tonight that will allow “minor crossover” between Raw and SmackDown. Essentially, the “wild card” rule from one year ago is seemingly returning in some capacity.

This news seems to come after the recent decline in ratings, and could be as a result of the networks pressuring WWE to do something different to attract viewership.

Additionally, the report states that the status of the Intercontinental Championship will also be addressed this week. Current titleholder Sami Zayn has noticeably been absent from TV since defending against Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 36. There’s no word yet on why Zayn has been off TV or what is in store for the midcard championship.

Tonight’s Raw will also feature a big announcement from Becky Lynch, the returns of Edge and Randy Orton, plus a development in the rivalry between The Street Profits and The Viking Raiders.

We’ll bring you the latest news throughout the night right here at WrestlePages.com.
