WWE To Change Touring Schedule?, AEW Expanding, Heat Between Rollins & Riddle, Futures Of Mysterio Children

Will WWE make significant changes to their touring schedule when the COVID-19 pandemic is over?

The COVID-19 pandemic has eliminated WWE house shows. This has cut revenue and resulted in several people losing their jobs. The change has provided talent time off the road and time to heal up. I have seen the speculation about WWE cutting back its live events once they are able to run again but I have a hard time believing that will be the case when Vince McMahon gets the all clear. It is safe to say we probably won’t see live events this year. They will probably be limited in 2021. But by 2022, my belief is WWE will ramp things back up and get to touring full time again.

If Cody Rhodes is to be believed, it appears Dynamite will not be going to three hours. However, it looks like another program is coming. I recall you writing about this would be a mistake, my question is why?

It is a good thing Dynamite is staying at two hours. AEW is recruiting talent for another show that will be separate from Dark on YouTube. AEW is a young promotion trying to get established. I understand they want to feature more talent and make more money on TV revenue but they need to focus in on their flagship program before over expanding. Eric Bischoff has spoke at length about WCW overextending when they introduced Thunder. Sometimes less is more and one of the biggest problems with WWE is product oversaturation. There are so many shows a lot of fans feel overwhelmed and it’s a turn off to the casual fan. My argument is AEW should establish Dynamite as a viable threat to Raw or SmackDown before putting resources into a second (technically third) show.

Do Matt Riddle and Seth Rollins have backstage heat?

There are rumors Matt Riddle and Seth Rollins have heat, which have increased with each star remaining on different brands (Riddle to Raw; Rollins to SmackDown). I was always under the impression Riddle was a fan of Rollins and wanted to work with him. There could absolutely be something there. Riddle has rubbed plenty of people the wrong way and has his fair share of detractors (Goldberg and Brock Lesnar in particular have no interest in working with Riddle). There are plenty of people who are jealous of Rollins’ role in the company and could have leaked negative stories about him. Or the whole thing could be blown up for clickbait. One thing fans have to understand is not everyone gets along. That is the case for any work place and WWE is not exempt from it. The difference is the work talent does is in front of the public eye so situations like this receive attention.

Is there room on the WWE roster for both Mysterio children?

Vince McMahon is high up on the Mysterio family angle involving Seth Rollins and Murphy. So much so there has been speculation the company could sign Aalyah Mysterio. There is room if there is value but I do not know what Aalyah’s purpose would serve after the program has concluded. Vince is high up on Dominik but he will likely have a hard time sticking after the program has concluded. It all comes down to interest and opportunity. Rey Mysterio being a valued member of the WWE roster obviously is a big bonus and should help to create opportunities for his children.
