Matt Jackson was not cleared to compete by Doc Samson, which is why The Young Bucks were not able to face off against Top Flight. The match will be taking place next week on AEW Dynamite.
During the falls count anywhere match against The Butcher & The Blade a few months ago, Matt Jackson injured his MCL following a dive on the stage. It seems the injury is still there and has been causing Jackson some problems.
According to a report by The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Matt Jackson has wrestled nine matches since that match. It was said that “nobody even knew he was hurt for most of them.”
The idea was to use the legit injury for storyline purposes even though they did keep the legit injury quiet.
When it was revealed that Jackson’s injury was legitimate, he said it was “a blessing” as it allowed him to sell the injury during his matches. This is an injury that “dated back months” and he has been undergoing rehabilitation since then and has gotten better.
