The plan is still for “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt to defend the WWE Universal Championship against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 36 in April, per Dave Meltzer.
When it was announced that Wyatt would be defending the belt against Goldberg at Super ShowDown on Feb. 27, 2020 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, some believed Goldberg could be booked over and go on to face Reigns in a “spear vs. spear” type encounter at WrestleMania 36. While it is Vince McMahon and something like that is always possible, it was not the latest plan.
Everything surrounding Wyatt has been he will remain champion until WrestleMania but things often change.
Goldberg was paid $2 million for his match against The Undertaker last year in Saudi Arabia and will likely receive another seven-figure payday for his bout against Wyatt later this month.
