Battle Royals Scrapped From This Year’s WrestleMania?

WWE typically features a men’s and women’s battle royal at WrestleMania every year, however that will not be the case this time around.

Due to CDC and government recommendations in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, WWE will not hold battle royals at WrestleMania 36 according to Pro Wrestling Sheet. This is being done to limit the amount of people in the ring at one time.

With WrestleMania being split across two nights at the Performance Center and other rumored locations, there’s a chance that WWE will pre-tape matches over the next couple of weeks. This will also limit the amount of people in one location at the same time.

Additionally, there are reports going around that WWE will pre-tape a number of Raw and SmackDown episodes in the coming days to air in the lead-up to WrestleMania since there’s no telling when the coronavirus will subside.

As of this writing, WWE has eight singles matches on tap for their biggest show of the year:

WWE Championship
– Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Drew McIntyre

Universal Championship
– Goldberg (c) vs. Roman Reigns

Raw Women’s Championship
– Becky Lynch (c) vs. Shayna Baszler

NXT Women’s Championship
– Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Charlotte Flair

Last Man Standing Match
– Edge vs. Randy Orton

– John Cena vs. “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt

– AJ Styles vs. The Undertaker

– Kevin Owens vs. Seth Rollins
