Former WWE NXT Star Confirmed For Women’s Tag Team Cup On AEW Dynamite

Chris Jericho revealed in this week’s episode of Saturday Night Special on his YouTube channel that former NXT Superstar Taynara Conti will be part of the AEW Women’s Tag Team Cup Tournament: The Deadly Draw.

Per Jericho, Conti and Anna Jay will face Ariane Andrew and Nyla Rose in a tournament match that has already been taped.

Jericho stated all four women kicked ass and it was much better than expected. He talked about Jay and Nyla being green so he did not know what to expect.

Conti was released by WWE back in April due to cuts in response to the difficult economic circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic. At the time of her release, Conti posted a YouTube video titled, “FIRED BY WWE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PANDEMIC.” She explained when she asked for her release, initially it was denied. And then when she asked again, she received a call from a company official who told her, “Hey Tay…Bye!”

Eight teams will compete in the Women’s Tag Team Cup Tournament: The Deadly Draw. Brandi Rhodes and Allie, known collectively as The Nightmare Sisters, were announced for the tournament but not officially announced as a team.
