AEW Dynamite defeated WWE NXT in the overnight ratings from Nielson, according to Ryan Glasspiegel.
He reports Dynamite did a 0.7 and NXT did a 0.5. Overnight numbers are preliminary, the full story will be told when final viewership numbers are released later today.
WWE has already issued a statement, congratulating AEW on a successful premiere and reminding fans it’s a marathon and not a one-night sprint.
For a completely upstart promotion to come out and beat the WWE giant in viewership would be a massive and unexpected victory. This just doesn’t happen.
