News

1994 – WCW broadcasted Clash of Champions XXVIII from the Five Seasons Center in Cedar Rapids, IA. This event was significant as it would be the very first time Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair would meet up in the ring for a singles match on broadcast television. The main event between the two competitors drew (at the time) a record 4.12 million viewers, with 2.75 million viewers watching the whole event.

Other notable notes from the Clash would feature Steve Austin losing the WCW United States Championship to Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat. This would be Ricky’s final match until 2009 due to suffering a career ending back injury during the match.

1999 – The first episode WWF Smackdown was taped from the Kemper Arena in Kansas City, Mo

2015 – The Dudley Boys returned to WWE on Raw for the first time since being released in 2005 due to budget cuts
