NXT General Manager William Regal and Keith Lee opened this week’s NXT to announce that Lee is vacating the NXT North American Championship. With Lee focusing on his efforts as NXT Champion, he wants to give other superstars the opportunities that he had as North American Champion.
As a result, Regal announced that a series of triple threat qualifying matches will take place over the next month to determine who will compete in a North American Championship Ladder Match at TakeOver: XXX on August 22nd.
Tonight’s qualifying match will feature Johnny Gargano vs. Roderick Strong vs. Bronson Reed. We’ll have NXT results later tonight here at WrestlingNews.com.
