Below is a backstage report recap featuring the latest WWE rumors:
WWE’s original plan for Liv Morgan on Raw
Liv Morgan voiced her frustrations with WWE on Twitter after the company apparently edited out portions of her Raw match against Natalya. This isn’t the first time Liv has been frustrated as Gary Cassidy recalled on Twitter that she went to Vince McMahon months ago to get moved to Raw.
Cassidy’s tweets suggest that her “lesbian” storyline with Lana wasn’t planned to be featured in the long run, and that it was just used for shock factor. Additionally, the tag team feud with Liv & Rusev vs. Bobby Lashley & Lana was meant to get Liv over for a babyface push.
Coming out of WrestleMania, Liv was kept strong with performances against Asuka and Charlotte Flair, but has since found herself in a rut when it comes to booking consistency. It remains to be seen if Liv Morgan and Ruby Riott are on the verge of reforming a tag team.
Andrade & Angel Garza update
According to The Wrestling Observer, there are long-term plans for Andrade & Angel Garza as a team. It remains to be seen if the unit will have a run with the Raw Tag Team Championship, but they are expected to be in line for a title match very soon.
Andrade & Angel Garza were scheduled to challenge The Street Profits for the Raw Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 36 before Andrade suffered an injury and was replaced by Austin Theory.
Kevin Owens off WWE TV again
Kevin Owens is off TV once again in the wake of a WWE talent testing positive for COVID-19. The former Universal Champion appeared on The Bump this morning to confirm the news.
“Due to the circumstances that happened over the last week with the positive coronavirus test in the company, I thought it was wiser for me to stay with my family. I told the people in charge my decision and they didn’t even flinch. There was no pushback because, I don’t think they pushback on anybody, but they know once I make my mind up on something, it’s just the way it’s going to be and they are respectful of my decision. I’m glad I took it because it was the best thing to do for my family.”
