WWE Friday Night SmackDown Results (10/23/2020)
From the ThunderDome (Amway Center) in Orlando, FL

Kevin Owens welcomes out Daniel Bryan for the KO Show. Owens pitches forming a tag team before they are interrupted by Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode, then The Street Profits, then Cesaro & Shinsuke Nakamura. A brawl breaks out.

The Street Profits, Daniel Bryan & Kevin Owens def. Dolph Ziggler, Robert Roode, Cesaro & Shinsuke Nakamura in an eight-man tag.

Sami Zayn confronts Bryan backstage about comments Bryan made earlier.

Bianca Belair def. Zelina Vega via pinfall.

Lars Sullivan def. Shorty G via pinfall. After, Gable told Kayla Braxton that he quits.

Seth Rollins cuts a promo backstage on Murphy as the two are scheduled to face each other tonight.

In the trainer’s room, Shorty G tells Adam Pearce that he’s tired of being Shorty G, and there’s only one man who can achieve anything he wants. And his name is Gable… Chad Gable.

Bayley is in the ring to rag on Sasha Banks ahead of their Hell in a Cell match. Banks comes out with the contract, but Bayley attempts a chair shot. Banks steals the title in the process and tries to coax Bayley into signing the contract. A tug of war for the title leads to Bayley getting laid out. Banks tortures Bayley with a chair over the champ’s head. Bayley is forced into finally signing the contract. Banks holds the title in Bayley’s face while promising to win on Sunday.

“Law & Otis” segments continue. Otis defends himself while The Miz & John Morrison are represented by WWE writer Jen Pepperman. JBL is the judge with Ron Simmons as the muscle. We see appearances from Rey Mysterio, Asuka, Tucker.

Back from break, JBL orders The Miz vs. Otis for Hell in a Cell on Sunday with the winner being able to keep the Money in the Bank contract.

Seth Rollins def. Murphy via pinfall after a lengthy, competitive match. Rey and Dominick yelled at Alayah for watching backstage. Post-match, Rollins brings in a kendo stick, but Aalyah marches out, followed by Dominick. Dom gets attacked from behind, prompting Rey to make the save. Rollins retreats, but Aalyah and Murphy embrace as she helps him to his feet. Rey and Dom are speechless.

Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman are out to address Jey Uso. Uso appears on the tron, apparently at The Tribal Chief’s home. Uso has a face covering on to help cover the fact that it’s actually Jimmy. Jey attacks Roman from behind and lands a big splash to stand tall before Sunday. Jimmy celebrates with Jey on the ramp.

Reigns grabs a mic and says if Jey makes him quit, then he’s no longer the champion or tribal chief. Reigns says he can live with quitting, but can Jey live with falling in line and taking orders and respecting the tribal chief? Reigns says all of their families will be left behind… those are the consequences. The cell lowers onto Reigns and Heyman in the ring. Jey climbs up the outside of the cage for a stare down.
