WWE NXT Results (10/14/2020)
From the Capitol Wrestling Center (WWE PC) in Orlando, FL

Kyle O’Reilly is out with Fish and Strong. Cole is still nursing rib injuries from Ridge Holland. O’Reilly says he’ll be cleared next week, but he’s here to watch Undisputed Era take over again. Lorcan and Burch are out for a stare-down before the bell.

#1 Contender’s Match: Undisputed Era def. Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch via pinfall with Strong nailing a high knee on Lorcan. Breezango watched the match from a platform above commentary.

McKenzie Mitchell reports Finn Balor had surgery on his jaw on Friday. Balor will be on the shelf for a few weeks before a decision is made regarding the NXT Championship.

Ember Moon’s sit-down interview airs. She knows she has to go through the locker room to earn a title shot, and she’s ready to do it. Ember’s law will lead her back to “her title.”

Jake Atlas def. Ashante “Thee” Adonis via pinfall in a brief match after Legado del Fantasma appeared on the ramp. Atlas made the save when Mendoza and Wilde attacked Adonis. Escobar approached the ring until Swerve appeared with a chair to make them retreat.

Backstage, Candice and Johnny talk about Halloween Havoc, Lumis challenging Priest tonight, and Austin Theory. Candice calls herself the uncrowned champion.

Johnny Gargano def. Austin Theory via pinfall following One Final Beat. As expected, they left it all in the ring. The commentators tout Theory walking out a winner based on his performance.

#1 Contender’s Match: Candice LeRae def. Shotzi Blackheart via pinfall after Indi Hartwell handed her brass knuckles. LeRae will challenge Io Shirai for the Women’s Title again in two weeks at Halloween Havoc.

Earlier today, Drake Maverick pitched merch and branding to Killian Dain. He says their name is Furry and The Fury. They have a match against Imperium tonight.

Toni Storm def. Aliyah via pinfall with Storm Zero. Quite the successful return for the former UK Women’s Champion.

Backstage, Regal announces he wants to up the stakes for Shirai vs. LeRae, but is unsure of what. He also books Ripley vs. Gonzalez for Halloween Havoc. Xia Li walks up and says she needs a match next to week to turn things around. Boa advises her on what to say. Regal says he will take it into consideration.

Imperium def Drake Maverick & Killian Dain via pinfall with Marcel going over Drake. Ever-Rise come out and corner Drake until Killian runs them over with a double clothesline. Dain says nobody hits Drake except him.

Halloween Havoc will feature Ripley vs. Gonzalez, plus LeRae vs. Shirai for the title. Next week, Undisputed Era will challenge Breezango for the NXT Tag Team Championship.

NXT North American Championship Match: Damian Priest (c) def. Dexter Lumis via pinfall to retain after Cameron Grimes interfered. Lumis came very close to winning a couple of times before Grimes stomped him on the apron. This match ran a minute past the hour – the first time NXT has ran long in a while.

Priest lays out Grimes with the Reckoning and heads to the stage to celebrate. As he goes to pull back an “arrow,” Gargano lays him out with a chair shot to the back. Regal comes out and stands between LeRae and Gargano. He announces Gargano will challenge Priest at Halloween Havoc. However, for both of their title matches, Shotzi has an announcement… Shotzi spins a wheel to determine their stipulations except we go off the air on a cliff hanger.
