WWE.com announced on Thursday that Curtis Axel has been released.
“WWE has come to terms on the release of Curtis Axel. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”
Axel is a former WWE Intercontinental and Raw Tag Team Champion after signing with the company in 2008. He last appeared on SmackDown in February in a losing effort against Daniel Bryan.
