Below are complete results from the October 9th edition of Friday Night SmackDown featuring the first part of the 2020 Draft:
Stephanie McMahon is out to announce the first round of draft picks with Seth Rollins notably going to SmackDown.
Falls Count Anywhere Match: Big E def. Sheamus via pinfall in the backstage parking area following a brutal brawl.
Backstage, Big E reunites with Kofi and and Xavier.
AJ Styles is drafted to Raw, and he’s not happy with SmackDown passing on him as the top pick. Bianca Belair to SmackDown, Naomi to Raw.
Matt Riddle & Jeff Hardy def. The Miz & John Morrison via pinfall before Lars Sullivan returned to wreak havoc on everyone but Morrison.
Rey & Dominik Mysterio are drafted to SmackDown, while Miz & Morrison are heading to Raw.
SmackDown Women’s Championship Match: Sasha Banks def. Bayley (c) by DQ in a brief scrap. Backstage, Sasha issues a challenge for a Hell in a Cell match.
SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match: The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) def. Cesaro & Shinsuke Nakamura (c) via pinfall to win the titles. After, Stephanie announces Kofi and Woods are drafted to Raw, but Big E will remain on SmackDown.
Otis is served a continuance for his court room drama involving Money in the Bank, Miz, and Morrison. Otis will remain on SmackDown.
The Fiend “Bray Wyatt” def. Kevin Owens via pinfall in the main event. Like usual, The Fiend was booked strong despite Owens bringing the fight.
Next week’s SmackDown season premiere will feature Braun Strowman vs. Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship, The New Day’s farewell SmackDown match vs. Sheamus, Cesaro, and Nakamura, plus appearances by new roster members.
