There were talks about bringing The Authors of Pain back to television on this week’s episode of WWE Monday Night RAW, reports Bryan Alvarez.
Akam and Rezar were an option for the eight-team Tag Team Turmoil match but obviously were not used.
The Authors of Pain worked a SmackDown live event back in July, going under to Ali and Matt Hardy. The duo had been away several months prior as Akam was out with a knee injury. They did work the WWE Super ShowDown in June as participants in the 50-main Battle Royal.
Rezar worked some WWE Main Event bouts while Akam was out. Both are still listed as RAW Superstars, even though they worked the aforementioned SmackDown live event. It’s believed they’ll not be working with Drake Maverick once re-inserted into storylines.
It does appear AOP are on the cusp of returning.
