SummerSlam 2020 is set to emanate from the WWE Performance Center this year, according to PWInsider.
WWE will tape shows from the training facility in Orlando for the foreseeable future as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to prevent fans from attending events.
NXT TakeOver is still slated to air on Saturday, August 22, after both events were scheduled to take place at the TD Garden in Boston this year.
Sean Ross Sapp noted on Twitter that a WWE Network special is also expected to air the weekend after SummerSlam. Speculation is now swirling that this could be a modified Hall of Fame induction ceremony after the 2020 event was cancelled in April.
As for this year’s card, not much has been said on matches in the works. WWE Champion Drew McIntyre vs. Randy Orton was mentioned, but we won’t know the status of that until after Extreme Rules. There hasn’t been any talk of Brock Lesnar returning yet, but that could always change.
Stay tuned for the latest developments.
