Bruce Prichard has officially replaced Eric Bischoff as the SmackDown Executive Director. Prichard’s first official show in the role will be tonight’s live airing on FOX.
CJ Blaze had more details, reporting Bischoff was released after a creative team meeting at WWE headquarters in Stamford, CT on Tuesday morning. He was reportedly hard to get ahold of and hard to find backstage after meetings.
Additionally, Dave Meltzer heard from a WWE source Bischoff had absolutely no vision and once the show was headed to FOX, everything was falling through the cracks. The same source claimed Bischoff messed up multiple times with FOX and had no stamina for the rigors of the job.
Bischoff should be free to work wherever he wants and will not have to wait out a 90-day non-compete clause because he was an executive, not an on-air talent.
