Only two matches are official for WWE Clash of Champions headed into tonight’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown. They are as follows:
WWE Championship Match
– Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Randy Orton
WWE Universal Championship Match
Roman Reigns (c) vs. Jey Uso
WWE is building towards several matches, below is a brief review of the current title feuds across Raw and SmackDown:
WWE Intercontinental Champion Jeff Hardy is locked into a feud that involves AJ Styles and Sami Zayn. Logic would have this match occur in a triple-threat match at the pay-per-view. Styles will face Hardy for the belt on tonight’s episode of SmackDown.
WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura will face WWE Raw Tag Team Champions The Street Profits in a champions vs. champions match on next week’s episode of Raw. This match could happen at Clash of Champions or Heavy Machinery could face Cesaro/Nakamura.
Bobby Lashley is expected to defend the United States Championship against Apollo Crews.
WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley finally started her program with Sasha Banks, it’s unknown if the company will have her defend the title against Banks at Clash of Champions or against someone else. Whatever the situation, WWE has plans for a drawn out program between Bayley and Banks.
Asuka could defend the WWE Raw Women’s Championship against Natalya or Shayna Baszler.
WWE Clash of Champions 2020 will take place on September 27, 2020 from the ThunderDome at Amways Center in Orlando, FL.
